TYSONS CORNER, VA, August 24, 2018 SSL will help Zin Technologies build and test a flight system component that NASA‘s Jet Propulsion Laboratory designed for the future Psyche mission, which aims to study its namesake metallic asteroid in order to understand the Earth’s formation, ExecutiveBiz reported Aug. 10.
The Maxar Technologies (NYSE: MAXR) subsidiary said Aug. 9 the Psyche Compute Element will serve as the NASA spacecraft’s onboard computer that will work to process commands and data handling operations.
Richard White, president of SSL’s government systems business, noted that the Psyche mission “will deepen humanity’s knowledge of our solar system and accelerate innovation for future exploration missions.”
