TYSONS CORNER, VA, December 17, 2018 ” SSL continues its support for NASA‘s space exploration efforts with the deployment of a robotic arm to perform operations as part of the space agency’s current InSight mission to study the interior of Mars, ExecutiveBiz reported Dec. 4.
The Maxar Technologies (NYSE: MAXR) company said Dec. 3 the SSL-built Instrument Deployment Arm on the InSight lander, which is the fifth robotic arm that the company has provided for Mars-bound spacecraft, will help place instruments on the Martian surface.
Richard White, president of SSL Government Systems, noted the robotic arm has begun operations as the company works to build on its ongoing supplier partnership with NASA and the Jet Propulsion Laboratory.
