Spire Global Hires Former Equifax Exec Leo Basola as CFO

Leo Basola, former senior vice president of international finance at Equifax (NYSE: EFX), has been named chief financial officer of Spire Global (NYSE: SPIR).

He succeeds Thomas Krywe, who left the CFO post after five years, and will lead Spire’s strategy to achieve its goal of having positive free cash flow by mid-2024, the space data and analytics service provider said Tuesday.

Basola managed Equifax International’s financial operations throughout 23 countries for the past four years.

His industry experience includes prior CFO roles at ChemTreat, General Electric (NYSE: GE) and Genworth Financial (NYSE: GNW).

A certified public accountant, Basola earned his bachelor’s degree from the Argentine Catholic University in Buenos Aires and his MBA from the University of Virginia’s Darden School of Business
