Space Force Issues Solicitation for $4B Space Range Operations, Maintenance Support Contract

The U.S. Space Force has released a request for proposals for a potential 10-year, $4 billion contract to provide operations, systems engineering, maintenance, sustainment and integration services to build up the capability for assured access to space from its eastern and western ranges.

The Space Force Range Contract is an indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract with a base period of five years and one option term of five years, according to a solicitation notice published Thursday.

USSF is looking to advance agile business processes and adoption of new technologies and support the service’s commitment to digital transformation to transform the two ranges into two spaceports serving space exploration, national security and commercial users.

According to the performance work statement, the contractor will oversee all assigned launch and test range system and non-LTRS platforms and services supporting the Space Launch Delta 30 and SLD 45 areas of responsibility.

The IDIQ contract covers enterprise management services, routine range services, mission support services, range engineering and technical support and other range services.

Proposals are due July 28.
