The government-focused subsidiary of global satellite operator SES has changed its name to SES Space & Defense as part of a rebranding effort that seeks to reflect its new strategy, structure and expanded capabilities meant to meet the needs of the Department of Defense and other U.S. government customers.
SES Space & Defense will be composed of two units and the space initiatives segment will deal with projects that leverage the company’s multiorbit satellite fleet, infrastructure and related assets. The defense networks unit will focus on end-to-end mission-critical communitions and multioperator managed services.
David Fields, president and CEO of SES Space & Defense, said the move is a key milestone for the company and for defense clients and that the organization is committed to delivering space platforms to tactical customers.
