Sean Plankey, a cybersecurity and government veteran, has been appointed director of cyber missions at enterprise artificial intelligence company DataRobot.
He will oversee the development and integration of DataRobot’s AI technology into cybersecurity platforms for government and commercial markets, the company said Thursday.
Plankey’s appointment comes as DataRobot expands its public sector practice with the inclusion of cybersecurity platforms. The expansion marks the company’s commitment to supporting defense, health care and intelligence work by using its enterprise AI offering to protect the U.S. government from cyber threats.
Chad Cisco, general manager of DataRobot Government Solutions, said the company looks forward to Plankey’s leadership and expertise as DataRobot broadens the use of its trusted AI platform to defend and protect the country’s critical resources from cyber attacks.
Plankey previously worked at the Department of Energy as principal deputy assistant secretary in the office of cybersecurity, energy security and emergency response. He also served as director for maritime cyber policy on the White House National Security Council. He is a U.S. Coast Guard veteran and former cybersecurity executive at BP (NYSE: BP).
