TYSONS CORNER, VA, Nov. 17, 2016 Mark Testoni, president and CEO of SAPNational Security Services(NYSE: SAP), has stated that skill development programs will work to eliminate the mismatch between veterans’ qualifications and civilian job requirements, ExecutiveBiz reported Monday.
He wrote in an opinion piece published Friday on the Huffington Post that veterans face difficulty in landing civilian jobs as their military skill sets may be overlooked by corporate employers.
“The types of innovative programs needed to bridge the military-civilian skills gap are around, but there is more demand for them than supply, ” said Testoni.
He noted that the industry should invest in skill development programs to support veterans as they transition from the military to civilian careers.
