- SAIC has secured a key role on an Air Force contract supporting ABMS digital infrastructure development
- The work will help advance the DAF Battle Network and CJADC2-enabled operations

SAIC said Tuesday it has secured a “leading position” on a potential $192 million U.S. Air Force contract to help develop the digital infrastructure underpinning the service’s Advanced Battle Management System, or ABMS.
Work under the ABMS Digital Infrastructure Network Developer multiple-award vehicle will focus on advancing the Department of the Air Force Battle Network and accelerating the implementation of the Department of War’s Combined Joint All-Domain Command and Control, or CJADC2, warfighting concept.
ABMS is one of many components that make up the DAF Battle Network — the service branch’s primary contribution to CJADC2.

What Will SAIC Do Under the Contract?
According to SAIC, it will lead the design, development and deployment of key components of the battle network architecture. The effort aims to improve the delivery of operational data to air, land, sea, space and cyber domains, supporting faster decision-making and more integrated military operations.
Its work will focus on strengthening command, control and communications capabilities within tactical, operational and strategic environments while enabling information sharing across multiple security classifications.
“Delivering the right data to the right warfighter at the right time is vital work that enables integrated full domain and partner nation operations securely and at mission speed,” said Vinnie DiFronzo, executive vice president of SAIC’s Air Force, space and intelligence business group.
“We will integrate data across all classification levels and domains to give warfighters a clear decision advantage when it matters most,” the three-time Wash100 awardee added.
What Technologies Will Support the Air Force Battle Network?
SAIC cited its experience in networking, command and control, artificial intelligence, cloud computing, and digital engineering as key factors behind the award.
The company will deliver capabilities, including optical transport networks, software-defined wide area networking, cross-domain technologies, cloud-enabled infrastructure and data distribution tools, to fixed, mobile and edge environments.
SAIC also intends to collaborate with commercial technology providers and original equipment manufacturers to incorporate emerging technologies and support AI-enabled operational capabilities.
How Does the Contract Fit Into ABMS Modernization Efforts?
The award builds on SAIC’s longstanding involvement in the Air Force’s ABMS initiative. In 2022, the company joined L3Harris Technologies, Leidos, Northrop Grumman and RTX as members of the Air Force’s ABMS Digital Infrastructure Consortium, which was established to help define requirements and develop the architecture supporting future command-and-control operations.
SAIC also secured a $112 million contract in 2023 to integrate cloud-based command-and-control software for the Air Force’s ABMS program.
Other recent contract recipients include Leidos, which won a potential $303 million contract in 2024 to provide planning, analysis and operational support for the ABMS digital infrastructure network, and L3Harris Technologies, which was selected in May to develop digital infrastructure capabilities for ABMS.
