Maria Bishop, corporate controller of Science Applications International Corp. (NYSE: SAIC), has been appointed as interim chief financial officer of the company and will continue to serve in her current role.
The company said Tuesday Bishop will take over the CFO responsibilities from John Hartley, who announced in March his plan to leave the company, until SAIC finds a permanent replacement.
Hartley plans to remain with SAIC throughout the transition process that is set to conclude in October.
“[Bishop] has broad and deep experience across our strong finance organization, and is a member of the senior leadership team, “ noted CEO Tony Moraco, a 2016 Wash100 recipient.
As a corporate controller, she leads the companys financial reporting, internal controls, government compliance, corporate tax, and financial planning and analysis activities.
The 18-year company veteran has supported SAICs corporate financial affairs over the past 10 years.
