Silva announced his new position at SAIC in a LinkedIn post published Saturday.
In this capacity, he will help align IT strategy with organizational objectives and oversee a team of nearly 600 IT professionals to deliver innovative end-to-end platforms to federal, intelligence and defense agencies and commercial customers.
According to his LinkedIn profile, he will also integrate artificial intelligence, hybrid cloud and other emerging technologies into enterprise best practices to promote innovation and improve citizen services.
Fred Silva’s Industry Background
Silva most recently served as SAIC’s VP and chief solution architect focused on supporting customers within the national security and space sector.
He has been with the Reston, Virginia-based engineering and IT services contractor for nearly two decades and held various leadership roles, including director of enterprise service delivery, master solution architect and program manager.
Before SAIC, he spent six years at the New York City School Construction Authority, where he served as director of operations enterprise architecture.
The SAIC executive held IT leadership roles at several companies, including Primedia and Routledge.
