Robert Work, former deputy secretary at the Department of Defense and a two-time Wash100 winner, has been named chairman of the board of directors at public sector business intelligence provider Govini.
“Bob is well known across the public and private sectors as a luminary in areas of defense strategy, programming, budgeting and readiness, supply chain security and acquisition reform, and advanced technologies like artificial intelligence,” Govini Founder Eric Gillespie said.
Work took the Pentagon’s second-highest civilian position in 2014 after his previous role as CEO of the Center for a New American Security. He also served as the U.S. Navy undersecretary from 2009 to 2013.
The former George Washington University adjunct professor holds membership at the International Institute for Strategic Studies and the Council on Foreign Relations.
