Robert Smith, formerly a human resources executive at BAE Systems‘ U.S. subsidiary, has joined Amentum as vice president for diversity, equity and inclusion.
He brings more than three decades of government and industry experience to his position and will be responsible for reinforcing Amentum’s workplace culture, the company said Tuesday.
The retired U.S. Coast Guard captain previously oversaw diversity, inclusion and talent acquisition initiatives within BAE’s intelligence and security business and worked at the U.S. Customs and Border Protection as director of national recruitment.
“Rob brings with him deep expertise in developing and executing strategies that will help us live our values — valuing each person in our organization,” said John Vollmer, CEO of Amentum and a six-time Wash100 awardee.
