The national security nonprofit said Wednesday Sablon will oversee Riverside Research’s technical strategy and independent research and development program.
Steven Omick, president and CEO of Riverside Research, said Sablon brings to the organization her expertise in artificial intelligence/machine learning and autonomy and experience in shaping national research priorities within the government.
“Her strategic vision, deep technical insight, and commitment to mission impact align perfectly with our goals. I’m confident she will have an immediate and lasting influence on Riverside and the customers we serve,” added Omick.
Kimberly Sablon’s Career Highlights
Sablon most recently served as principal director for trusted AI and autonomy within the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Research and Engineering. In this capacity, she led AI/ML and autonomy research initiatives within DOD and helped integrate AI with existing technologies and procedures.
She held leadership roles in the U.S. Army, including science and technology director; director for basic research within the Office of the Assistant Secretary of the Army for Acquisition, Logistics and Technology; and research physicist within the Army Research Laboratory, where she drove research that led to the publication of over 70 peer-reviewed articles.
The newly appointed CTO has a doctorate in applied physics from the University of Arkansas.
