Riverside Research has acquired Cog Systems for an undisclosed sum as part of a push to broaden its ability to deliver end-to-end cybersecurity platforms and services to national security and government customers.
‘Force Multiplier’
“The acquisition of Cog Systems is a force multiplier for Riverside Research’s cybersecurity and cryptography initiatives,” Steven Omick, president and CEO of Riverside Research, said in a statement published Monday.
“By pairing their best-in-class secure hardware and virtualization technologies with our cyber resilience and AI-driven security solutions, we can deliver integrated, defense-grade platforms that proactively mitigate emerging threats in mobile and IoT environments,” Omick added.
With Cog’s expertise in secure hardware architecture, Riverside Research could speed up the development of embedded and secure mobile platforms for government and national security clients while leveraging its zero trust, cyber resilience and mission assurance capabilities.
The national security nonprofit said the transaction could enable it to rapidly prototype, test and field independent research and development software offerings on a hardware-backed foundation to support secure computing and communication applications.
Aegis Secure
Founded by CEO Carl Nerup, Cog Systems provides cryptographic and secure virtualization platforms for internet of things and mobile devices.
One of its products is Aegis Secure, a platform designed to ensure security across connected devices. It uses the same virtualization techniques used in the cloud to provide a stronger security architecture.
