Rick Wagner, executive vice president and chief operating officer of the mission, cyber and intelligence solutions group at ManTech International (Nasdaq: MANT), has been promoted to president of that same unit in a move that takes effect Jan. 1.
ManTech said Wednesday Wagner will succeed the retiring Bill Varner, who has led the MCIS business as president since 2009, and will oversee the company’s support services for U.S. intelligence customers.
Wagner has managed the group’s day-to-day operations over the past year and previously served as senior VP and general manager for the advanced technology solutions business.
He joined ManTech after a 16-year career at TASC, which Engility (NYSE: EGL) acquired in a $1.3 billion all-stock deal that closed in February 2015.
At TASC, he worked in various roles such as SVP for defense business and chief strategy officer of the professional services contractor.
He also held program or project management roles at Raytheon (NYSE: RTN), Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT) and the U.S. Navy‘s Naval Surface Warfare Center.
