TYSONS CORNER, VA, May 1, 2018 Iridium Communications (Nasdaq: IRDM) CEO Matt Desch has expressed confidence in the company’s broadband services portfolio amid the prevalence of low-Earth orbit satellites in space, ExecutiveBiz reported Friday.
Desch, a 2018 Wash100 inductee, said in an earnings call that Iridium’s upcoming “specialty” broadband services are complementary to the services offered by the new LEO constellation operators, Space News reported Thursday.
The Certus L-band communications platform is anticipated to enter commercial service in the second quarter.
