CSRA (NYSE: CSRA) has secured a potential 10-year, $2.4 billion follow-on contract from the National Security Agency for enterprise information technology services, Nextgov reported Tuesday.
The company said in a Sept. 5 filing with the Securities & Exchange Commission it won the recompete contract from a Defense Department agency through its Eagle Alliance joint venture that initially received the potential 10-year, $5 billion Groundbreaker contract in 2001.
CSRA owns 79 percent of the Eagle Alliance JV that also includes Northrop Grumman (NYSE: NOC) and led by CSRA™s predecessor Computer Sciences Corp.
The enterprise IT support portion is the first of the three parts of the classified contract that NSA launched in 2001 in an effort to outsource IT infrastructure services.
The report added that NSA is expected to award the contract’s two other segments this calendar year and sources said CSRA is bidding on all the contract™s portions.
