In a LinkedIn post published Monday, the Sterling, Virginia-based company said Garrett’s strategic vision and innovative approach will be key as REI continues its expansion efforts.
“With over 25 years of experience transforming companies and managing over $40 billion in IT, cybersecurity, systems engineering, and professional services, Gregg is set to elevate our team to new heights,” the company stated in the post.
In this capacity, the newly appointed COO will oversee a team of REI’s more than 850 IT, software development, cybersecurity, program management and business professionals as they work to manage digital transformation efforts for U.S. federal defense, civilian, space, health and state and local government agencies.
Garrett most recently served as vice president of cybersecurity services and solutions at Peraton, according to his profile on the professional networking platform.
His industry career included senior IT and cybersecurity leadership positions at several companies, including BDO USA, Blue Canopy Group, Navigant, ASI Government, Lucent Technologies and ESI Group.
According to REI, Garrett has over two decades of service as a U.S. Air Force military officer.
