TYSONS CORNER, VA, May 16, 2019 Red Hat (NYSE: RHT) collaborated with Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT) to utilize open source architecture, DevSecOps practices and an Agile methodology for the development and deployment of updates for the U.S. Air Force’s F-22 Raptor fleet, ExecutiveBiz reported May 7.
The open source solutions provider said May 6 the Red Hat Open Innovation Labs worked to help Lockheed’s aeronautics business move from the waterfall development process to Agile, as well as create an open architecture based on the Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform, in an effort to accelerate the rollout of new software-defined capabilities for the F-22 aircraft.
“Now, reduced planning times are allowing for faster release cycles that can deliver significant benefits to the U.S. Air Force,” said Paul Smith, senior vice president and general manager of Red Hat’s public sector business and a 2019 Wash100 awardee.
