Raytheon Technologies to Update Air Force Missile Software Under $125M IDIQ

Raytheon Technologies (NYSE: RTX) has landed a six-year, $125M contract to update the inventory software of the U.S. Air Force’s Advanced Medium Range Air-to-Air Missile system.

The branch expects the company’s missile systems business to apply a recognized agile approach that covers collaborative and repeatable software development activities, the Department of Defense said Wednesday.

USAF intends to concurrently place an initial $1.2M task order under the sole-source, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract and obligate $678,402 at the time of award.

Work will take place in Tuczon, Arizona, through Sept. 30, 2026.

According to Raytheon Technologies, the AMRAAM weapon system is designed to locate and engage intended targets with the use of onboard radar, inertial guidance and midcourse flight systems.
