The global aerospace and national security company said Thursday Fitzgerald will lead the business development, strategic planning, capture management and technology development initiatives of the IAS.
The executive will also oversee the internal research and development, or IRAD, teams, as well as SNC’s innovation incubator, JTF Sierra.
Ray Fitzgerald’s Career Details
The SNC executive is currently the managing director of BlackPoint Ventures, a strategic advisory firm he founded. He is also a member of the board for Klas Government and Ocean Aero, as well as director of Intermap Technologies.
Fitzgerald also served as a senior executive at Epirus, leading its enterprise strategy, investment, mergers and acquisition and international efforts. He was president and CEO of the BroadBay Group before that.
He served in the U.S. Navy for 22 years, holding various positions, including aviation director for the Naval Special Warfare Development Group. He piloted an F/A-18 Hornet Instructor Pilot and an A-6E Intruder.
Jon Piatt, executive VP at IAS, said of Fitzgerald, “His entrepreneurial spirit and depth of Department of Defense expertise at the helm of our business strategy is a welcome addition and will help ensure that SNC continues to disrupt the industry status quo and build on the significant success achieved over the last few years.”
