Since 2014, the Wash100 Awards has been honoring the most influential people in the government and government contracting industry. Winners are handpicked based on their previous achievements and are poised to continue making significant contributions to the government and GovCon industry for years to come.
Commenting on Vecchiolla’s win, Garrettson, who founded the Wash100 Awards, said, “Tom, the new president and CEO of QinetiQ US, is bringing decades of impressive experience to his new role. A U.S. Navy veteran, Tom has built a distinguished career in defense, national security, and industry.”
“Tom’s proven track record of leadership and innovation positions him to spearhead new advancements in support of our nation’s defense priorities,” Garrettson added.
Vecchiolla assumed the role of president and CEO of QinetiQ US, a defense and security company, in January. The govcon industry veteran held leadership roles at ST Engineering North America, Raytheon, First Light Acquisition Group and Artisan Consulting, a company he founded. He also serves as an independent director of Gencor Industries’ board.
Earlier in his career, Vecchiolla served in the U.S. Navy. Over the course of over 21 years, he was appointed to various roles, including leadership assignments in the Middle East.
