Perspecta said Wednesday it will provide updated technology to support the Space Weather Analysis and Forecast System’s analysis of sensor data on space-based environmental conditions including solar winds and solar flares that could impact ground systems, spacecraft and aircraft.
The contract will cover Phase III Small Business Innovation Research program activities including the implementation of a data-as-a-service platform and cloud migration efforts for SWAFS applications to enable direct access to data in near real-time.
Work under the award is meant to help government agencies and the Department of Defense in using more available data sources for SWAFS while updating its capacity for data collation and correlation.
Jeff Bohling, senior vice president and general manager of the defense group at Perspecta, said the company will focus on improving situational awareness and supporting the evaluation of data on the space environment.
Perspecta secured the recent award through the Space Force’s Space and Missile Systems Center and the Federal Systems Integration and Management Center within the General Services Administration.
