Paul Selva, Kathleen Hicks, Dava Newman Join Aerospace Corp.'s Board of Trustees

Aerospace Corp. has appointed retired U.S. Air Force Gen. Paul Selva, Department of Defense veteran Kathleen Hicks and former NASA official Dava Newman to the nonprofit company™s board of trustees.

Selva, who spent 39 years in the Air Force, previously served as vice chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and commanded U.S. Transportation Command and Air Mobility Command, Aerospace Corp. said Monday.

Hicks is a senior vice president at the Center for Strategic and International Studies, as well as holds the positions of Henry A. Kissinger chair and international security program director there. She also worked at the Department of Defense as deputy undersecretary for strategy, plans and forces.

Newman, a professor at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, helped develop NASA’s Human Journey to Mars strategy during her tenure as the agency’s deputy administrator from 2015 to 2017.

Steve Isakowitz, president and CEO of Aerospace Corp, said the newly elected board members will offer their insights to the organization and the space community it supports.

The El Segundo, Calif.-based nonprofit™s board of trustees is comprised of 12 to 22 members who come from the government, commercial and academic sectors.
