Carey Smith, chief operating officer of Parsons (NYSE: PSN), has assumed additional duties as president to help oversee the companys operational business lines and functions that are vital to supporting clients missions.
The company said Tuesday Smiths appointment and other organizational realignments seek to enhance synergies between the federal solutions and critical infrastructure segments as well as integrate into the operations team the firms information technology, corporate procurement, sustainability enterprise and safety functions and corporate real estate and facilities.
Careys proven track record of organic and strategic growth makes her well prepared to take on this increased leadership responsibility, said Chuck Harrington, chairman and CEO of Parsons.
Smith, a two-time Wash100 award winner, joined the company in 2016 as president of the federal solutions business. She assumed the COO role in November 2018 after Parsons merged its federal and infrastructure business units into a single structure.
She sits on the boards of the Professional Services Council and Edison International.
