TRS is known for its environmental remediation technology developed for cleaning hazardous and toxic substances from soil, groundwater and fire suppression systems, Parsons said Tuesday.
“The acquisition of TRS Group significantly enhances Parsons’ environmental remediation capabilities in both of our operating segments and serves as a force multiplier for our already industry-leading PFAS remediation solutions,” said Carey Smith, chair, president and CEO of Parsons and a seven-time Wash100 awardee.
Also commenting on the acquisition, TRS President and CEO Brett Trowbridge said, “As we join forces, our collective goal is to lead the industry in creating impactful, sustainable projects that benefit communities and preserve natural resources.”
About TRS Group
TRS, founded in 2000, is considered an industry leader in the treatment of volatile and semi-volatile organic compounds, including per and polyfluoroalkyl substances, or PFAS, energetics and pesticides, found in groundwater, soil and bedrock.
The company has completed over 160 in situ thermal remediation projects using its thermal remediation technology, which works to speed up hazardous substances’ breakdown and removal.
In North America, TRS holds the exclusive license to the PerfluorAd technology, a cleaning and separation agent for removing PFAS compounds from various systems, including wastewater streams, fire suppression systems and firefighting vehicles.
