Global artificial intelligence and cybersecurity firm Palo Alto Networks has finalized the acquisition of Protect AI, a company specializing in securing AI applications and models.
Enhancing AI Security Capabilities
Palo Alto Networks said Tuesday it will integrate Protect AI’s technology and expertise into its Prisma AIRS AI security platform to strengthen its ability to provide security to advanced technology infrastructure. With the combined technologies, Prisma AIRS will be capable of providing comprehensive protection, including model scanning, posture management, AI red teaming, runtime protection and AI agent security.
The strategic move aims to empower businesses to deploy AI innovations while maintaining a strong security strategy. It is also intended to address the evolving demands of AI’s rapid growth across various industries, including government, finance, healthcare and manufacturing.
Under the agreement, Protect AI’s CEO Ian Swanson, along with its founders and employees, are set to join Palo Alto Networks. Swanson will assume the role of vice president of product for Prisma AIRS.
