John Pfeifer, who served as executive vice president and chief operating officer of Oshkosh (NYSE: OSK) over the past year, has been promoted to the positions of president and COO.
He will be responsible for Oshkosh's defense business, global supply chain, marketing and digital technology functions, the company said Friday.
In his most recent roles, Pfeifer oversaw the firm's commercial, fire and emergency and access equipment business segments.
He previously served as president of Fond du Lac, Wis.-based marine propulsion manufacturing company Mercury Marine and held leadership posts at Brunswick, ITT Industries and Cincinnati Milacron.
Oshkosh CEO Wilson Jones said Pfeifer has been instrumental in driving corporate strategies, leading non-defense segments and expanding its lifecycle parts and services portfolio.
