TYSONS CORNER, VA, Aug. 31, 2016 The Energy Department‘s Oak Ridge National Laboratory has set a record for building the largest solid 3D-printed object with the trim-and-drill tool the lab built for Boeing (NYSE: BA) measured at 17.5 feet long, 5.5 feet wide and 1.5 feet tall, ExecutiveBiz reported Tuesday.
ORNL said Monday it worked more than 30 hours to produce the Guinness World Record-holder tool that Boeing will use to secure the composite wing skin of the 777X passenger jet.
