TYSONS CORNER, VA, Sept. 5, 2017 Orbital ATK (NYSE: OA) has collaborated with NASA to check the capability of a robotic platform that will work to support the assembly of space structures in the future as part of a ground demonstration at the Langley Research Center, ExecutiveBiz reported Thursday.
The space agency said Thursday the test activity on the NASA Intelligent Jigging and Assembly Robot 2.0 is aimed to advance the Commercial Infrastructure for Robotic Assembly and Services public-private project, which seeks to develop robotic components for in-space assembly and servicing and utilize Orbital ATK’s Mission Extension Vehicle – 1 technology.
