The Office of Personnel Management and the General Services Administration™s Centers of Excellence have issued a draft request for quote and request for information to seek industry feedback on a plan to obtain two backup mainframes to replace existing hardware supporting OPM™s critical workloads, FedScoop reported Thursday.
OPM and CoE will use the information to assess whether to buy or lease equipment needed to set up two disaster recovery mainframes in Macon, Ga., and Boyers, Pa., to support background investigation and retirement service application workloads.
The draft RFQ outlines several performance objectives such as obtaining and validating the required hardware stated in the technical specifications and bringing the mainframes to œcode 20.”
The agencies will accept responses through July 15.
