Nuclear Industry Vet David Batters Appointed AECOM SVP, Int’l Sector Lead; John Vollmer Quoted

David Batters, formerly group chief financial officer at the U.K. Nuclear Decommissioning Authority, will serve as AECOM™s (NYSE: ACM) senior vice president and international sector lead for nuclear and environment strategic business unit within the company™s management services group, starting Sept. 1.

He will report to Mark Whitney, executive VP and general manager of the business unit, and support government and commercial clients in the U.K., Japan and other countries in Europe and Asia, AECOM said Monday.

Prior to NDA, Batters served for more than two decades at BAE Systems, where he served as group CFO.

œThis appointment strengthens our international presence in a key growth opportunity market as we implement the spin-off of our new company in 2020, Vollmer added.

AECOM™s board of directors approved in June the company™s plan to spin off its management services segment into a publicly traded independent company focused on serving national government clients. The move is expected to conclude in the second half of fiscal 2020.
