Northrop Grummans (NYSE: NOC) innovation systems sector, Sierra Nevada and Maxar Technologies (NYSE: MAXR) SSL have each won a potential five-year, $750M contract to develop small and medium satellites, payloads, spacecraft subsystems, buses, software and ground platforms for NASA.
NASA announced the awardees under the Small Spacecraft Prototyping Engineering Development and Integration Space Solutions program in a FedBizOpps notice posted Wednesday.
SSPEDI SpS is a multiple-award, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract with firm-fixed-price, cost-plus-incentive-fee and cost-plus-fixed-fee task orders.
The contract also includes support for spacecraft and ancillary systems deployment and project operations based on schedule and technical requirements, according to the statement of work.
The contractors will also provide information technology system operations and other logistical support to deliver integrated systems, space vehicle hardware and other components to the agency.
