Northrop Grumman (NYSE: NOC) has secured a potential $149.7 million firm-fixed-price, cost-plus-fixed-fee contract from the U.S. Navy for hardware, production test stations and technical services in support of the installation of large aircraft infrared countermeasures.
The Defense Departmentsaid Friday Northrop will help integrate LAIRCM into the combat aircraft of the U.S. Army, Marine Corps, Special Operations Command and the government of Australia.
Naval Air Systems Command will obligate $143.2 million from fiscal 2014, 2015 and 2016 Navy and Army aircraft procurement; fiscal 2015 Army research, development, test and evaluation; as well as international partner funds for work to be performed in California, Colorado, Illinois, Maryland and various locations within and outside the continental U.S.
DoD noted the contract covers weapon replaceable assemblies and support equipment such as advanced threat warning sensors, LAIRCM signal processor replacements, control indicator units, signal processors and infrared missile warning system sensors.
Guardian laser transmitter assemblies, GLTA shipping containers, multi-role electro-optical end-to-end test sets, ATW acceptance test station and smart connector assemblies will also be procured in efforts to meet fielding requirements, DoD added.
