TYSONS CORNER, VA, Nov. 2, 2016 Northrop Grumman (NYSE: NOC) has received the last of the five NeXolve-built sunshield layers that will work to protect the optics and equipment of NASA‘s James Webb Space Observatory, ExecutiveBiz reported Tuesday.
NASA said Tuesday the sunshield serves to prevent the sun’s heat from disrupting the telescope’s infrared sensors as well as regulate temperature throughout the observatory.
