He will oversee efforts to develop and implement Rocket Lab’s strategy to support the federal, local and state government customers, the company said Tuesday.
Peter Beck, founder and CEO of Rocket Lab, noted that Bunker brings government and industry relations experience as the company looks to establish manufacturing and launch facilities for its Neutron rocket.
Beck added that the launch service provider aims to grow its space systems business operations in California, Colorado and Toronto.
Bunker previously worked for the office of John Boehner during the latter’s tenure as U.S. House of Representatives speaker from 2011 to 2015.
Rocket Lab completed its acquisition of Colorado-based space software Advanced Solutions in October.
