Navy Issues Solicitation for $99M Rapid Prototyping IDIQ Contract

The U.S. Navy has started seeking proposals for a potential $99 million indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract to build and deliver prototypes to support the delivery of tactical systems to warfighters.

The Rapid Prototyping contract will have an ordering period of five years and will cover hardware fabrication, project management, engineering design, development and testing, drawing development, design analysis, fabrication, bill of material development and manufacturability analysis, according to a solicitation published Friday.

The unmanned and expeditionary weapon systems division within the Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division plans to compete the IDIQ contract as a total small business set-aside program and award multiple contracts through the solicitation.

NSWCDD said the requirement will be a follow-on to existing contracts with Hart Technologies and QinetiQ.

“The desired prototypes consist of hardware components including weapons controls systems, command and fire control systems, control box assemblies, training panel assemblies, cables, printed wiring assemblies, antennas, customized testing equipment, enclosures, and electronic racks that physically support the hardware which will be mounted in a variety of aircraft, ships, and vehicles,” the statement of work reads.

Proposals are due Aug. 12. The service anticipates contract awards to occur by May 30, 2023.
