The Navy has awarded Huntington Ingalls Industries a cost-plus-fixed-fee contract valued up to $471.9 million to provide engineering support for Nimitz-class and Gerald R. Ford-class aircraft carriers.
What Work Will HII Provide Under the Navy Contract?
The award covers engineering, technical and design work along with logistics, configuration and database management and modernization, and ship change document development, the Department of War said Monday.
Work will take place in Newport News, Virginia; Portsmouth, New Hampshire; and Bremerton, Washington. The contract’s completion date is in November 2030, if all options are exercised.
The Naval Sea Systems Command serves as the contracting activity.
HII has also provided hull planning yard, technical and engineering support for the Navy’s Gerald R. Ford-class and Nimitz-class nuclear-powered aircraft carriers under a $129.7 million contract awarded in 2019.
