Capt. Ben Van Buskirk, director of NavalX, will join the “Next Digital Domain- Driving UX, Data and Platform Success” panel at an upcoming Potomac Officers Club event.
Van Buskirk assumed his current role on March 19 and lead the organization that aims to scale non-traditional agility approaches across the Department of the Navy workforce. Previously, he served as a founding member of the N7 Strategic Warfighting Innovation Cell in the Office of the Chief of Naval Operations and as a secretary of defense executive fellow at VMware. He also worked at the Joint Chiefs of Staff as assistant deputy director for operations and strike adviser to the U.S. president, and logged more than 3,000 flight hours with the SH/MH/HH-60.
The Navy Forum on May 12 will feature other service leaders and industry representatives who will give their perspectives on information technology and security initiatives across the branch.
James “Hondo” Geurts, acting undersecretary of the Navy and 2021 Wash100 Award recipient, will deliver the keynote address. He will be introduced by Susan Lawrence, armed services portfolio lead within the national security practice at Accenture Federal Services.
Bill Marion, managing director of growth and strategy in Accenture Federal Services‘ defense and intelligence practice, will lead the event panel comprised of Van Buskirk; Capt. Matt Farr, global executive director in the Office of Naval Research; and Jane Rathbun, deputy assistant secretary of information warfare and enterprise services at the Department of the Navy.
