NASA Selects 4 Companies to Support ‘Mission-Enabling’ Systems at Johnson Space Center

Four companies have received separate contracts worth a combined $103.4 million over five years to support spaceflight and aircraft management systems at NASA’s Johnson Space Center in Texas.

The Mission Enabling Services Contract consists of five individual contracts that are divided into three work segments, intended to primarily support the center’s flight operations directorate and scheduled to take effect Oct. 1, the agency said Thursday.

Science Applications International Corp. (NYSE: SAIC) secured a potential $27.3 million MESC baseline A contract to provide information technology and related support services for the NASA Aircraft Management Information System.

Rothe Development will provide services and support to the directorate’s IT system and legacy components under the baseline B contract segment valued at $41.1 million.

ASRC Federal’s aerospace services unit and Mathematical Research Inc. were awarded indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contracts worth $35 million combined to perform highly specialized, advanced research and development IT work.

The baseline A and B contracts each have a two-year base period of performance, followed by three option years, and the IDIQ awards have an ordering period of five years.
