Jon Arena, former senior counsel of Boeing‘s (NYSE: BA) global services segment, has joined Huntington Ingalls Industries (NYSE: HII) as vice president and chief counsel of its Newport News Shipbuilding division.
He succeeds Jim Gildea and will advise the division’s senior management on legal matters in his new position, HII said Friday.
Kellye Walker, executive vice president and chief legal officer at HII, said Arena brings government contracting, export control and intellectual property experience to Newport News Shipbuilding programs.
Arena provided legal advice to Boeing’s executive leadership team over the past three years.
Before that, he served as senior counsel at NASA and his previous work focused on the legal aspects of the space agency’s contracting and financial processes.
