TYSONS CORNER, VA, Feb. 14, 2017 Mitre has developed a 15-year shipbuilding plan for the U.S. Navy that would bring the fleet size to 414 combat ships with a “high-low mix” of low-end warships and high-end combat vessels, Executive Gov reported Monday.
Breaking Defense reported Friday the plan also involves the cancellation of the Littoral Combat Ship program, the replacement of the San Antonio-class amphibious transport dock vessels and the prioritization of the Hyper-Velocity Projectiles.
