Cubic (NYSE: CUB) has completed the acquisition of Shield Aviations assets through its ISR Systems subsidiary in an effort to broaden its command, control, communications, computers, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance platforms.
Cubic said Tuesday it expects the transaction to help expand its mission solutions business C4ISR tech portfolio for expeditionary communications and provide an opportunity to offer Shield Aviations medium-altitude autonomous aircraft system to its clients.
“We are very pleased to welcome the Shield Aviation team to our Cubic family,” said Mike Twyman, president of Cubic Mission Solutions.
“The addition of Shield Aviation’s assets aligns well with our current capabilities and its technologies will offer more opportunities for us to serve our customers in the defense industry, he added.
Cubic already supplies the command-and-control system and data link for Shield Aviations medium-altitude aerial drone.
