Michael Witt, formerly a corporate director at chemical company Dow, will officially join Northrop Grumman (NYSE: NOC) on Aug. 9 to serve as vice president and chief sustainability officer.
He will oversee Northrop’s carbon reduction activities, resource efficiency efforts and other initiatives aimed to promote environmental sustainability, the company said Thursday.
Witt previously oversaw Dow’s business services, remediation and regulatory affairs for Europe and Asia Pacific, and energy and climate unit. He also drove the global service strategy at the chemical manufacturing company in his most recent role as a senior director.
Northrop noted that it runs environmental, social and governance programs and was featured in The Dow Jones Sustainability Index for North America for five straight years.
