Michael Turner Joins HawkEye 360 as Chief Legal Officer

HawkEye 360 has appointed Michael Turner, a seasoned general counsel and business leader, as chief legal officer.

The geospatial analytics company said Tuesday Turner brings to the role over 25 years of legal, public company and executive leadership experience across defense technology and venture-backed growth companies.

“As we integrate Innovative Signal Analysis, build on our recent Series E funding, and continue to scale our platform, Michael’s depth in public-company governance and complex transactions directly supports our long-term vision and growth strategy,” said HawkEye 360 CEO John Serafini.

In December, HawkEye 360 acquired signals processing technology provider ISA as part of its capability expansion push.

In line with the appointment, Dennis Burnett will continue in his role as general counsel at HawkEye 360. He will oversee regulatory, privacy, export and national security matters and support special projects across the company. In 2020, he joined the company as executive vice president and general counsel.

Who Is Michael Turner?

Turner most recently served as chief legal and administrative officer at 908 Devices, a publicly traded company that provides chemical analysis tools for defense, health and safety applications.

He also served as co-CEO, general counsel and executive director of publicly traded venture firm Allied Minds. He was a partner at law firms DLA Piper and Goodwin Procter, where he advised public and private companies, venture capital firms and investment banks on mergers and acquisitions, capital markets and corporate governance.

The Colgate University graduate earned his law degree from Cornell Law School.

Turner said he is excited to join HawkEye 360 and that he looks forward to working closely with the leadership team as the company continues to grow and expand its capabilities.
