Michael Shields
Michael Shields, a retired U.S. Army lieutenant general, has joined CACI International (NYSE: CACI) as senior vice president of advanced technology for mission adoption.
He will oversee platforms development and strategic planning efforts to integrate technologies in sensors, artificial intelligence, autonomous systems and other areas with warfighting requirements, the company said Wednesday.
Shields is a strategic innovator and leader whose qualifications are perfectly aligned with our strategy to concentrate CACIs resources and capabilities on fielding mission-focused advanced technologies that serve and protect our warfighters, said Ken Asbury, CACI president and CEO and a 2019 Wash100 winner.
Shields has over three decades experience as a military leader. He most recently served as director of the Joint Improvised-Threat Defeat Organization within the Defense Threat Reduction Agency.
He also held several other leadership roles during his military career including commanding general of the U.S. Army Alaska; head of the National Joint Operations and Intelligence Center, Joint Staff; and director of the Pakistan/Afghanistan Coordination Center.
