Investment firm Shield Capital has appointed technology industry leaders Michael Brown and John “JJ” Jack as venture partners.
Brown, a 2022 Wash100 awardee, and Jack will bring decades of management and industry leadership experience as the San Francisco-based venture capital firm looks to help government and commercial clients address challenges in artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, autonomy and space areas, Shield Capital said Tuesday.
“Mike and JJ are proven leaders and mentors. We are excited to have them onboard to invest in America’s core strategic advantages: our technology and talent,” said Raj Shah, managing partner at Shield Capital and a previous Wash100 Award recipient.
Brown most recently served as director of the Defense Innovation Unit. He is a former Presidential Innovation Fellow who served as CEO of Symantec and led Quantum Corp. as chairman and chief executive.
Jack has held senior leadership roles at several software companies, including Fortify Software, Covalent and The Vantive. He began his career at Sybase, where he served as senior vice president of sales.
