Jennifer Boykin, president of HII Newport News Shipbuilding, said Mulherin is a second-generation shipbuilder who brings to the role his business management and leadership experience.
Mulherin most recently served as program director for Doris Miller(CVN 81) and future aircraft carriers. He has held business operations management and finance roles at Newport News since joining the business in 2004, including financial analyst and business manager for the Block III Virginia-class submarine program.
