He succeeds Dario Deste, who will continue to serve as president of FMG and GM of Fincantieri’s naval vessels division, the company said Thursday.
In 2018, Galbiati assumed the GM position and was responsible for growing the business and building up the workforce in support of military and commercial contracts.
He started his career at Fincantieri in 2007 and held leadership roles at various financial departments within the company, including head of financial planning and controls for naval vessels and cruise ships business units.
Galbiati previously worked at Italy-based industrial and medical gas supplier Sapio Group, where he served as group financial controller.
