He helped establish ManTech in 1968 with a U.S. Navy contract for simulation and modeling services, the company said Wednesday.
“I want to thank George on behalf of everyone who has been part of ManTech for his guidance and leadership over the past five decades, most recently in his role as Chairman Emeritus and as a member of the Board,” said Kevin Phillips, chairman, CEO and president of ManTech and a 2022 Wash100 Award winner.
Phillips added that Pederson is an industry pioneer who helped build ManTech into a mission-focused national security company.
Under Pedersen’s leadership as chairman and CEO, ManTech started trading on the Nasdaq in 2002, when the company had $400 million in annual revenue, and grew into an organization with an annual revenue of over $2.5 billion today.
In September 2020, Pedersen stepped down as ManTech’s chairman and was succeeded by Phillips in the role.
